As the Malaysian society emerges into the endemic phase of the Covid-19 pandemic, it is timely to reflect upon the explosion of attention on public health, research, and its impact on society at large. It is also sobering to consider the extent in which misinformation has challenged the value of evidence-based science as well as the mistrust in public health messaging globally. The post-pandemic scenario has presented an opportunity for the scientific community to play a larger role in engaging society and building science into culture. This roundtable discussion would explore these opportunities and dissect this scenario with perspectives from a panel of experts.
